Meet Valentine, one of the most fascinating squirrels on Vanderbilt University's campus. As a mother to many squirrels, she has a distinctive parenting style that is both authoritative and loving. I have had the privilege of observing her educate her babies, sometimes grooming them with tenderness, while at other times asserting her dominance by kicking fully grown children out of the nest.

Valentine is a confident squirrel who commands respect from her peers and maintains a strong presence in the squirrel community. She can be a little grumpy at times, but that only adds to her unique personality and charm. Despite her sometimes stern demeanor, she has placed her trust in me and has allowed me to observe her and her family up close.

Valentine is a true character and a beloved member of Vanderbilt's squirrel community. Her strong parenting instincts and unique personality have made her a popular subject of study and admiration among students, faculty, and staff alike.
